Galveston Bay Cruising Destinations
Galveston Bay offers great benefits to the boating community. Galveston Bay is 30 miles long and 17 miles wide with an average depth of 7 feet to 9 feet. Being an estuary, we have a unique variety of destinations, from the anchorage of Redfish Island to the secluded shores of Double Bayou. The Bacliff/San Leon shoreline offers a nice anchorage that is pretty well protected. Smith Point and Topwater Grill are a short sail from the San Leon shoreline. Both have docking facilities and restaurants that serve excellent food. Galveston is a short cruising and docking at the Harbor House Marina, offers access to the Strand area and the anchorage at Offats Bayou has access to Moody Gardens.
Here are some of the more popular cruising destinations in the Galveston Bay area.
